About Parklands Financial Advisers

Choosing the right person to entrust with your finances can be a challenge. It goes without saying that you’ll be looking for someone with expertise, experience and ethics. With so many Independent Financial Advisers offering their services to you, what do you expect and how will you know when you’ve found the right one?

You’ll want an adviser who talks your language but more importantly takes the time to listen to you. You need someone who understands and has a range of solutions that can be tailored to your specific needs and circumstances.

Having started in 2001 and with over 50 of years of combined experience we know that our clients are looking for sound, practical advice in a language that’s easy to understand. They trust us and they know that we’re here when they need our help and advice.

Most people want a Professional to guide and advise them, with a real focus on their priorities and needs. They’ll want an IFA who’s there for the long-term and who can help them plan ahead, with clear Independent Financial Advice.

Over the years we’ve built long and lasting relationships with our clients for one very simple reason; we’re here for the journey, to be someone you can rely upon and turn to when you need us. Life can change and often does, your priorities may shift, as may your circumstances. Our role is to become a trusted adviser who takes the time to understand what really matters to you and how we can help you achieve the things that really matter to you.

If you’re looking for a professional service, with a very human touch – call or email us today and find out why we’re right for you. We're a family-run operation, with our managing director's son also being part of the team. And if English isn't your first language but you're conversant in either Italian, Spanish or French, we have an advisor who is fluent in those languages who can speak to you.

Paul Yallop Dip PFS, Cert CII

Managing Director

Having started in financial services in 1997 with Lloyds TSB, Paul qualified as a financial adviser and has worked with clients from all walks of life. It soon became evident that the advice he could give working for a bank was not independent or impartial and only the very wealthy were able to take full advantage of independent advice within a banking environment. This is still the same within banking and generally within the financial advice sector today.

He set about starting his own Independent Financial Advice Practice. This happened in 2001. His aim has always been to not over-complicate things and because of that Parklands Financial Advisers has been successful from day one. He says “If my clients understand the financial decisions they have made then they won’t lose sleep over them. We are an advice service and ... we are willing to advise clients of all wealth and at all stages of life."

Paul is married with two children.

Paul enjoys restoring and riding motorcycles. He’s on the management committee at the Royal Norfolk and Suffolk Yacht Club and enjoys sailing with his daughter when the weather and time permits. He also enjoys racing motorcycles with his son.

Donovan Goodman Dip PFS, Certs CII

Independent Financial Adviser

Donovan has worked in financial services since 1997 having cut his teeth with Virgin Direct and later on advising for several high street banks before joining the Parklands team in 2009. Donovan is diploma-qualified and also advises on mortgages and equity release.

Empathy, humility and a strong sense of ethics are Donovan’s strongest assets and he has a great talent for being able to simplify and demystify financial planning.

Donovan lives with his partner and two young children and when  they are not visiting family in his native Gibraltar, they enjoy days out together exploring the beautiful sights of Norfolk and Suffolk. To relax, he loves cooking new and exotic dishes and is a bit of a geek when it comes to technology and gadgets.

James Turner Dip PFS, Certs CII (MP & ER)

Independent Financial Adviser

James Turner has been involved in the financial services' industry since 1996 and believes that the previous two decades of experience has provided the ideal foundation for his work as an Independent Financial Adviser.

James is active in the areas of Retirement and Investment Planning and over the years has been involved in many specialist roles, from corporate and employee benefits, investment and fund research, to estate and inheritance tax planning.

Being skilled at constructing bespoke strategies to meet his client’s goals is appreciated as much as his attention to detail. James is able to tailor financial solutions which are focused on meeting his client's specific needs.

Having achieved a Diploma in Financial Planning, James is fully committed to furthering his professional standing and is proactive in obtaining higher qualifications within the financial services' industry.

James is happily married to Melanie, has four grown-up children and a granddaughter. Away from business, apart from spending time with his family, James has many interests including travelling, photography, motor sports and philately.
